It is completely possible for a site with very few pages to score a decent PR with google. I just recently bought a domain from godaddy auction for $9 dollars that had a PR3, very few archived pages and only 6 links to the domain. The key is that the quality of those 6 links were very high thus passing on that value to the domain I purchased. It is not always about the quantity of the links coming to your site but more about the quality. I would take 6 PR3+ links over 1000 PR-unranked links any day.

I found this blog informative. Needs of a person varies from person to person. In order to achieve more success in real estate business now-a-days sales people have to be more specific. Thanks for this

Having designed a fairly successful website (which I've recently switched to a wordpress cms with some temporary (I hope) loss of pr), I have to agree with the main arguement of this posting but disagree with a key assertion: that smaller sites with fewer pages can rank as well as larger site with more pages. Internal pages do have link value and internal pages can be ranked on their own and searched on their own. A search for 1033 exchanges will bring up an internal page of my site in google search results. More internal pages pointing to a key landing page is going to help a site. Those internal pages should be of value to end users. If you're designing a site for end users in your local territory rather than for google, your internal pages will probably be unique will garner pr and will help your sites ranking in google.

I just checked the search positioning in Google for Jerry's new blog and as expected, after 10 days or so his blog is ranking in the top 10 for "denver real estate blog(s)" and rising in the ranks for "denver real estate" (on page 3 when I checked). His posts are ranking in the number 1 spot for their keywords after a day or two.

The blog works very well indeed!

Its funny because when I started blogging it took me a minute to figure it out. I think a lot of people are the same way. I cant tell you how many times I suggest a blog and all I get is the rolling eyes and I can almost read their mind, " Blog, I dont have time for that". Over and over again I see this. Once you get in the flow of blogging I find it quite easy. I think blogging is very important and every agent should have a blog. Great post Doug.

Hey Doug, great post. Some agents don't know how important it is to drive traffic to their personal websites. We have done a lot of research on IDX and web marketing. You can spend a mint on pay-per-click, yeah you get a lot of leads that way but with the way the market is currently who has 2000+ dollars a monht to spend on web marketing. Not me. Using SEO is a great way to go as well. I recommend every agent looking into some sort of SEO to drive traffic to their sites. Keep the good posts coming.
